Membership Categories
AADLC offers two membership categories: Founder Members and Ordinary Members.
Founder Members
These are institutions whose leaders established AADLC. They hold full membership rights, including voting and leadership eligibility.
Ordinary Members
These are Development Learning Centres and similar institutions from African countries that join the Association. Ordinary Members also hold full participation and voting rights.
Membership Qualification
Institutions seeking to join AADLC must meet the following criteria:
- Have at least five years of experience in development learning or related fields
- Demonstrate commitment to the objectives of AADLC
- Be willing to participate in regional collaboration and knowledge exchange
- Have the capacity to operate in English, French, or Swahili
- Be able to function in multicultural and cross-border settings
Rights of Members
All members are entitled to:
- Participate in AADLC meetings, programmes, and activities
- Access information, resources, and services offered by the Association
- Vote and contest for leadership roles according to the constitution
- Benefit from collaborative projects, training initiatives, and knowledge exchanges
- Request information on Association activities
Obligations of Members
Members are expected to:
- Uphold the principles and constitution of AADLC
- Participate actively in the Association’s programmes
- Respect the views of other members and contribute to shared learning
- Meet financial obligations as determined by the Association
- Support the Association’s reputation and values through ethical conduct
